The low pressure area over the Philippine Sea is gradually strengthening into a tropical depression. Coastal localities from Quang Ninh to An Giang are proactively taking response measures.

On the morning of July 4, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province issued Document 99/VP-PCTT, directing proactive measures to respond to low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions and strong winds at sea.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, a low pressure area has formed in the northeastern region of Lu-Dong Island (Philippines). At 1:00 p.m. on July 3, the low pressure area was located at about 18.5-19.5 degrees North latitude, 121.5-122.5 degrees East longitude.

To proactively respond to the low pressure area that is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression and strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of wards and communes; and relevant agencies and units.

Closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of low pressure areas that are likely to strengthen into tropical depressions; notify captains, owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and adjust production plans, ensure safety of people and property; maintain communication to promptly handle bad situations that may occur.

Provincial Newspapers, Radio, Television and mass media agencies should increase information about developments in low pressure areas to authorities, owners of vehicles operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond.
