Nghe An: Paying more than 38.6 billion VND in unemployment benefits

(Baonghean.vn) - That is one of the information presented at the Conference on signing and implementing the coordination program between the provincial Social Insurance and the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, held on the afternoon of May 18.

The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Le Truong Giang - Director of the Provincial Social Insurance, Mr. Nguyen Bang Toan - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs. Attending were representatives of the leaders of the departments and offices of the two units.

At the conference, the two units evaluated and discussed the results achieved in the coordination work in 2015 - 2016. Accordingly, the two units actively implemented propaganda and guidance on labor, salary, social insurance, unemployment insurance, health insurance policies; coordinated to expand the number of participants in social insurance and health insurance; strengthened inspection, examination, and settlement of complaints and denunciations...

Notable in the coordination work is the inspection and examination of units with outstanding social insurance and health insurance debts. Monthly, the inspectors of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the provincial Social Insurance directly work with units with outstanding social insurance and health insurance debts. In early 2016, the joint sector invited 106 units with outstanding social insurance and health insurance debts to work; and made records of violations of social insurance and health insurance laws against 46 units.

In 2015 and 2016, based on the list of units with long-standing debts compiled and transferred by the Social Insurance, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs inspectorate issued a decision to fine 100 units and forwarded the Labor Federation to request a lawsuit.

In particular, in the payment of unemployment benefits, the two units have actively and quickly coordinated from the reception to the payment stage, creating convenience for workers. In 2015 and 2016, unemployment insurance was paid to 20,052 people, with an amount of more than 38.6 billion VND; 35 workers were supported with vocational training, equivalent to 151 million VND.

On this occasion, the two units signed a cooperation program with the main contents: coordinating propaganda; coordinating to expand and develop the subjects participating in health insurance, social insurance, reducing outstanding debts of social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance; coordinating to inspect, monitor and share data connection of unemployment insurance, etc.
