The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Nghe An province has just issued Document No. 263/VP-PCTT, directing proactive measures to respond to the strengthening cold air, cold and strong winds at sea.

According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, due to the influence of the strengthening cold air, from the night of December 26, 2024, the North Central region will continue to experience cold weather, with the lowest temperature ranging from 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas, there will be severe cold, with temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. In the Gulf of Tonkin, the North East Sea, the middle of the East Sea, the sea area from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, and the western sea area of ​​the South East Sea, there will be strong northeast winds of level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, rough seas; waves from 3.0 - 6.0m high.
To proactively respond to the increasing cold air, cold and strong winds at sea, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of districts, cities and towns; relevant agencies and units to closely monitor warning and forecast bulletins to inform about the development of the increasing cold air. Timely inform local authorities and people to proactively prevent; Instruct people to ensure health, do not use coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid unfortunate incidents.

Strengthen propaganda and guidance for livestock households on hygiene, strengthening barns, covering and keeping warm, proactively stocking food; provide guidance on disease prevention and control for livestock, poultry and aquatic products; ensure safety for agricultural production.
Regarding strong winds at sea, coastal districts and towns are requested to closely monitor information and developments of strong winds at sea; notify captains and owners of vehicles and vessels operating at sea to proactively prevent and have appropriate production plans, ensuring safety of people and property.
