From tonight, November 17, in Nghe An, the weather will turn cold; very cold at night and in the morning, severe cold in some mountainous areas, rough seas.

On the afternoon of November 17, the Provincial Civil Defense Command issued an official dispatch directing proactive measures to respond to severe cold and strong winds at sea.

According to the news of Nghe An Province's Hydrometeorological Station, currently, the strong cold air mass is continuing to move southward. Around tonight (November 17), this cold air mass will affect Nghe An Province.

Due to the influence of the cold air, the night of November 17 in Nghe An turned cold; the night and morning were very cold, some places in the high mountains were severely cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass was generally 13 - 15 degrees Celsius, some places in the high mountains were below 13 degrees Celsius. From the evening and night of November 17, the northeast wind in the sea of ​​Nghe An gradually increased to level 6 - level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9, the sea was rough. Waves were 2.0-4.0m high.

To proactively respond to severe cold and strong winds at sea, the Provincial Civil Defense Command requested the People's Committees of wards and communes; relevant agencies and units to proactively implement response measures.

Closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts on the development of cold spells, severe cold, and severe cold, and promptly inform authorities and people at all levels to proactively take appropriate preventive measures, and at the same time deploy plans to respond to the cold, in particular strengthening guidance on ensuring the health of people and students at boarding schools, and not using coal stoves to heat in closed rooms to avoid human casualties;

Propagate and guide livestock farming households to strengthen barns, cover and keep warm, store food; prevent and control epidemics for livestock and poultry; guide measures to ensure safety for rice, vegetable and other crop production.

Localities and units must seriously organize on-duty shifts and regularly report to the Provincial Civil Defense Command.
