Nghe An has 4 international seaports
(Baonghean.vn) - According to Mr. Vo Van Hai - Head of the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Nghe An will have an international port cluster in Cua Lo including 4 ports, not just Vissai international port.

Currently, apart from Cua Lo port, the first international port that has been in operation for decades, the remaining ports are actively under construction to complete soon.

Cua Lo PortThe detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/2000 was approved in Decision No. 37/2016, with the function of a general port area, meeting the import and export needs of goods for businesses in Nghe An province and neighboring provinces in the North Central region, and a part of transit goods from Laos and Northeast Thailand.
The total planned area of Cua Lo port is 450 hectares. The port has 6 wharves in total, of which 4 have been put into operation. Currently, Tuan Loc Construction Investment Joint Stock Company is implementing the investment project for wharves 5 and 6 and will be completed by the end of 2017.

Second international portis Cua Lo deep-water port. This is the northern port of Cua Lo port invested by International Transport Development Investment Joint Stock Company (ITID), with an area of 750 hectares, and is currently not under construction.
Third international portVissai port serves the cargo transportation of The Vissai group, will receive a fleet of 3000-70,000 DW, serving the transportation of 9 million tons of cement of this group in 2020 and 15.4 million tons/year in 2030. Currently, the investor is preparing to hold the ceremony to announce the international port on October 21, 2017.
Vissai seaport includes 2 wharf areas: International wharf area and Inland wharf area. In which, the international wharf area includes 3 wharfs receiving fleets from 30,000÷70,000DWT. Inland wharf area includes 7 wharfs receiving fleets from 3000÷10,000DWT.

4th Portis the DKC international petroleum port associated with the DKC petroleum depot invested by Thien Minh Duc Joint Stock Company, approved by the Provincial People's Committee for planning adjustment in Decision No. 126/2016.
DKC Port is a specialized port serving the import and export of petroleum for ships from 3,000 DWT to 49,000 DWT. DKC petroleum port has an offshore wharf layout, connected to the petroleum depot by a 5.6m wide, 1,608m long approach bridge. The wharf structure is a pier-type structure including technological floors, piers, and anchor piers.
Regarding construction progress, Ms. Chu Thi Thanh, investor representative, said: 49,000DWT berth: Completed working floor, 1/4 piers, completed piling work, and is currently constructing the body. For 5,000DWT berth, piling work and working floor have been completed, and the remaining work is underway. The approach bridge is currently undergoing piling work.
Regarding the progress of DKC port completion: The 49,000DWT berth is expected to be handed over by the investor on December 20, 2017; The 5,000DWT berth is expected to be handed over on December 10, 2017.
Due to the impact of storms No. 2 and No. 10, some construction items of seaports are having to be re-constructed, slowing down the proposed progress.
