Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Bang Toan - Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs emphasized: Since 2005, implementing the Foreign Labor Permit Program (EPS) signed between the two governments of Vietnam and Korea on sending Vietnamese workers to work for a limited period in Korea, Nghe An is one of the provinces with the largest number of workers working in Korea in the country. The monthly salary of 1,000 - 1,500 USD/person is a significant source of income for workers and families with members working in Korea, helping them improve their daily lives, cover living expenses, contribute to job creation, poverty reduction, legitimate enrichment and increase foreign currency revenue for the province.

However, Nghe An is also one of the provinces with the largest number of workers violating labor laws in Korea. The most common situation is the arbitrary termination of labor contracts and illegal residence after the expiration of labor contracts. Currently, the rate of Nghe An workers residing illegally in Korea is more than 40%. This not only affects the image of Vietnamese workers, but also affects the province's job creation, labor export, and the rights of the people.
Therefore, the conference to meet workers who registered to work in Korea under the EPS program was held with the purpose of providing information, propaganda, and raising awareness for workers so that they can comply with the regulations of the EPS program and the laws of the host country when they are allowed to leave and work in Korea.
