Nghe An announces the third subject group for the 10th grade entrance exam

This is the first time Nghe An Department of Education and Training has applied a combined exam to the 10th grade entrance exam. In the first organization, the combined exam subjects chosen were Foreign Language - Biology and Civic Education.

Previously, for many consecutive years, Foreign Language was chosen as the third subject. However, this year the exam format has many innovations with three subjects. In particular, in addition to two independent exams including Math and Literature, the remaining exam is a combined exam with 3 components: Foreign Language, 1 subject in the field of Natural Sciences and 1 subject in the field of Social Sciences. The combined exam will be in the form of objective multiple choice, including 50 questions, candidates will take the exam on multiple choice answer sheets and the multiple choice answer sheets are graded by computer software.

Math and Literature will be tested in essay format. The score of the Math and Literature test is the sum of the component scores of each question in the test and is graded on a scale of 0 - 10 and multiplied by a factor of 2. The score of the combined test is the sum of the scores of all questions in the test, each question is worth 0.2 points and multiplied by a factor of 1.

According to the plan, the 10th grade entrance exam scores will be the basis for admission to public schools and one of the bases for admission to Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and the province's Ethnic Minority High School.

The entrance exam for grade 10 is conducted in the form of an entrance exam and a selection exam. The entrance exam is for schools with the number of first-choice applicants exceeding the assigned quota. Selection exam is for the remaining schools.

It is expected that this year's 10th grade exam will be held on June 6 and 7, 2018.
