This morning (June 3), more than 39,000 candidates in Nghe An officially entered the 10th grade entrance exam.
The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year is the first exam to be conducted according to the 2018 General Education Program with a new exam structure, closely following the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training, with high practicality and applicability.
Participating in this year's exam, Nghe An province has 39,130 candidates registered to take the exam at 69 public schools in the whole province. Candidates will take the exam at 71 exam locations with 1,664 exam rooms.

Due to the special nature of this year's exam, from the end of the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year, Nghe An announced the sample exam structure early and announced the third exam subject nearly 2 months earlier than previous years.
This is the first year that the selection of the third exam subject is implemented according to Circular 30, but Nghe An still implements the three exam subjects of Literature - Math - English, which has helped candidates and schools in reviewing.

This year’s exam also has some changes in favor of candidates. Specifically, this is the first year Nghe An has added bonus points to junior high school students who won provincial-level prizes organized by the Ministry or the Department of Education and Training or in coordination with departments and branches on a province-wide scale.
Adding incentive points will promptly motivate and encourage students and schools in the process of discovering and nurturing excellent students and creating motivation for them to make efforts and practice in their studies.
Before entering the 10th grade entrance exam, yesterday afternoon (June 2), at many examination sites, candidates came to see their registration numbers, examination rooms and listened to the examination regulations. Some errors were also adjusted by the examination councils to help candidates smoothly take the 10th grade entrance exam.

To prepare for the 10th grade entrance exam, the Department of Education and Training has established an exam steering committee and issued a plan to organize the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year, ensuring a timeline and clear assignment of tasks and responsibilities. Issued an inspection plan; coordination documents between the Department and the Provincial Police, with departments, branches and localities to organize the exam well.
In addition, the Department has also organized training on exam organization techniques and training on the use of exam management software for exam staff; organized students to register for the exam on the admission software. At the same time, it has increased the dissemination of exam regulations to avoid violations before, during and after the organization and conduct of the exam, ensuring fairness for all candidates.

The 10th grade entrance exam for the 2025-2026 school year is considered the least stressful exam as the number of candidates taking the exam this year has decreased by more than 5,000 compared to the previous school year. From 2026, the number of candidates taking the 10th grade entrance exam in Nghe An will increase dramatically and is expected to increase by more than 7,000 compared to 2025.
To avoid pressure on candidates and maintain a stable staffing level at schools, this year most high schools across the province will maintain the same quota as in 2024, with the admission rate at many schools being over 90%.

The 10th grade entrance exam results will also be used to get the base score for the 10th grade entrance exam - Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted.
According to the plan, today, candidates will take the first two exams. In the morning, they will take the Literature exam (120 minutes) in essay format and in the afternoon, they will take the Foreign Language exam (60 minutes) in multiple choice format.
