Nghe An: Announcement of Decision to establish regular police in towns

On the morning of July 6, Nghe An Provincial Police held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Public Security on the establishment of regular police in towns in the province. In response to the requirements and demands of ensuring security and order at the grassroots level, from 2018 to present, the Central Government, the Ministry of Public Security, Nghe An Province and the Provincial Police have focused on preparing the contents and conditions to complete the arrangement of at least 5 regular police officers in each commune (To date, Nghe An Police has arranged more than 2,200 officers in 428 communes and towns).

After a period of implementation, positive results have been confirmed, creating a "new wind"; the security and order situation has clearly changed, becoming increasingly stable and peaceful; arising incidents have been effectively consulted and resolved right at the grassroots level.

However, with the characteristics of being the political, economic and social center of the district; having a high population density, concentrating businesses and qualified business establishments... the security and order situation in the towns still has many potential complex factors, requiring the construction of a regular, professional and unified town police force under the direct command of the district-level police leaders. Therefore, after the Ministry of Public Security decided to establish a regular town police force, the Party Committee and leaders of the provincial police focused on directing and implementing it uniformly throughout the province.
