Nghe An ensures nearly 20 million cubic meters of earth and rock for the construction of the North-South Expressway

(Baonghean.vn) - According to information from an online meeting with the Government on urging the progress of the North-South expressway in the East, by the end of October, Nghe An had basically completed all procedures to grant a license to exploit material mines for the North-South expressway section through Nghe An.

Previously, the demand was expected to be about 20 million m³Soil, rock, sand and gravel as raw materials for filling and construction of the North-South expressway through Nghe An, the province has approved adjustments and supplements to the mineral planning for the 2021-2025 period.

Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee adjusted and added 7 mineral areas for common construction materials so that relevant departments and branches can carry out legal procedures so that enterprises with the capacity can prepare exploration documents and auction the right to exploit and use.

Specifically, according to this additional approval, the province has 11 more sand and gravel mining sites for common materials concentrated in 3 districts: Tan Ky, Thanh Chuong, Nghia Dan; 5 soil mines for common filling materials in Yen Thanh, Nghia Dan and Thanh Chuong; 19 soil mines serving the North-South expressway in Quynh Lam, Ngoc Son (Quynh Luu); Dien Doai, Dien Loi, Dien Yen (Dien Chau); Hung Yen Nam, Hung Thang, Hung Phu (Hung Nguyen); Hien Son, Dai Son, Hong Son, My Son (Do Luong); Nghi Lam, Nghi Kieu (Nghi Loc); 2 stone mines for common materials in Tho Hop commune, Quy Hop district.

According to Project Management Board 6, Ministry of Transport: While some provinces are seriously lacking in quarries of raw materials, Nghe An has prepared abundant quarries of raw materials and currently even exceeds the project's demand. However, due to the nature of the project, raw materials need to be close by to ensure safe construction, notenvironmental impactand other infrastructure works, so the Board wishes and proposes to increase the individual capacity of some mines. Currently, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has provided guidance and the Board is requesting that mine owners submit specific reports to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment for consideration and submission to the People's Committee of Nghe An province for resolution.

Specifically, for embankment materials, the demand for the North-South expressway project through the area is 13.5 million m³. Of which, Nghe An currently has 40licensed mine for mineral operationsIncluding 14 mines in operation, reserves of about 21,515 million m³; 26 mines are licensed for exploration with an estimated area of about 35 million m³.
