The 3rd political essay contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation in 2023 was organized and launched by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in coordination with the Central Propaganda Department, the Central Theoretical Council, Communist Magazine, Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam Television and the Vietnam Journalists Association.
The contest aims to contribute to continuing to promote the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW, dated October 22, 2018 of the 12th Politburo on "Strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation"; at the same time, effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
Affirming the important role of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints in the new situation. Raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and people for the task of protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints.
Through the contest, continue to discover, train, foster and practice skills for the force, form a widespread network to firmly protect the Party's ideological foundation, effectively fight against erroneous and hostile viewpoints, contributing to protecting the Party, the State, the people and the regime. Improve the quality of political works in newspapers, magazines, radio, television and social networks on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous viewpoints of hostile, reactionary and opportunistic forces, contributing to protecting, propagating and spreading the Party's guidelines, policies and viewpoints, the State's policies and laws, focusing on the contents of the Documents of the 13th National Congress of Delegates, the Resolutions of the 13th Central Conference of the Party.
The contest contributes to creating a rich source of high-quality, highly combative products, directly serving the propaganda work of agencies, units and localities.
After more than 9 months of launching, the Contest has created a wide spread in the political system across 63 provinces and cities nationwide with 301,365 entries, nearly 3 times more than the 2022 Contest. After receiving the entries, the units/localities conducted screening and evaluation in many rounds and at many levels, selecting the best quality entries to submit to the Central level contest.
The Steering Committee and Organizing Committee of the Competition have established a Jury consisting of experienced and prestigious scientists and journalists, organizing the scoring of 02 Preliminary and Final rounds in the form of independent scoring for each work and conducting duplicate scanning using technology software to ensure objectivity and quality of the entries.
According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, there were 301,365 entries nationwide (nearly 3 times more than the second time in 2022). Provinces, cities, units, ministries and branches nationwide selected and sent 11,856 entries to the Central Government. The Organizing Committee selected 3,155 entries of various types for the preliminary round.
At the Award Ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes according to the types of entries, including: Magazine articles, newspapers, radio, television, and video clips. Each type includes: 3 A prizes, 5 B prizes, 7 C prizes, and 10 Encouragement prizes.
Nghe An Newspaper is honored to have a special issue: Identifying and experience in fighting against the tricks of "activities aimed at overthrowing the people's government", by author Ngo Duc Chuyen, winning the B prize. The special issue consists of 3 parts: Part 1: The illusion of overthrowing the people's government; Part 2: "Black hands" taking advantage of religious freedom; Part 3: Proactively grasping the situation, promptly orienting public opinion.
On this occasion, Nghe An also had the following authors: Tran Ngoc Tai (Nghe An Provincial Police) won the B prize; Pham Duc Thang (Do Luong District Police) won the C prize; Nguyen Hong Ky (Nghe An Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations) won the Encouragement prize.
The Organizing Committee also awarded 15 "Excellent Collective" prizes to agencies, organizations and localities that have organized and implemented the contest extensively and creatively at the grassroots level, effectively serving the implementation of Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW of the 12th Politburo at localities, agencies and units; have many products participating in the contest with good quality, of which at least 1 work won a B prize or higher. Steering Committee 35 of Nghe An province was awarded the "Excellent Collective" prize.
In addition to the official prize, the Organizing Committee of the contest will award Promising prizes to the entries of authors and groups of authors who are union members, youth, and students who make it to the final round and have the highest score among the entries of union members, youth, and students.
