Nghe An aims to raise 40 billion VND to help the poor celebrate Tet

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 10, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to discuss the program 'Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau 2017'.

Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired. Attending were representatives of the provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments, branches, agencies, units and socio-political organizations in the province.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee presented Tet gifts to the poor in Tuong Duong district.

To share, help and encourage the poor to celebrate the traditional Tet 2017 warmly and happily, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has developed a plan to organize the program "Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau 2017". The plan sets out specific contents on propaganda and mobilization of agencies, units, enterprises, and philanthropists inside and outside the province to support money or goods to help poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances due to illness or damage caused by natural disasters and floods.

At the meeting, the Provincial People's Committee organized to collect opinions from the delegates on the related plan contents such as: Decision to establish an Organizing Committee to implement the program and assign responsibilities for calling for mobilization of each member; Agree on the mobilization level and value of each gift; Method of organization and script of the live program with the theme "Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau 2017"; Time to organize direct delegations to visit and give gifts to poor households, policy families, and those in special circumstances.

Attending the meeting, delegates discussed in detail how to organize the mobilization. Comrade Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, stated: Nghe An province currently has 74,474 poor households. In recent years, Nghe An has done a very good job of taking care of the poor during Tet. To ensure that people can celebrate Dinh Dau Tet, the value of each Tet support gift needs to be equivalent to the previous year's support level of 500,000 VND. Thus, the amount of money needed to mobilize is about 40 billion VND.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Le Minh Thong stated: Taking care of a warm traditional Tet for the poor is a common political task of the whole province. The amount of money needed to mobilize is very large, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to mobilize the entire socio-political system and the entire population to join in and support. In the mobilization, it is necessary to be proactive, flexible as well as well prepare the live program with the theme "Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau 2017", striving to take care of Tet for the poor in 2017 better than in 2016.

The plan to organize the program "Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau 2017" is proposed: Time for continuous propaganda and mobilization for 01 month, starting from December 15, 2016 - January 15, 2017; Time to organize the program directly on the evening of January 6, 2017; Time to give gifts to the poor from January 12 - January 18, 2017.
