Nghe An promotes cooperation with Viettel Group

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 11, provincial leaders had a working session with Viettel Military Telecommunications Group at the Provincial Party Committee headquarters.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended and chaired the meeting. Also attending were Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches.

On the side of Viettel Military Telecommunications Group, there was Colonel Tran Thanh Tinh - Standing Member of the Party Committee, General Director of Viettel Import-Export Trading Company, Military Telecommunications Group and members of the working delegation.

Colonel Tran Thanh Tinh - General Director of Viettel Import-Export Trading Company, Military Telecommunications Group introduced some features of the group's operations.

Viettel mainly operates in the telecommunications sector, with revenue in 2014 reaching 197 trillion VND, revenue in 2015 expected to reach 230 trillion VND, budget contribution estimated at 21 trillion VND. Currently, Viettel's overseas market has expanded to about 10 countries, being the leading telecommunications service provider in the two markets of Laos and Cambodia. In addition, Viettel also researches, manufactures and produces equipment for defense tasks, information technology for e-government operations and provides medical and educational software, etc.

At the meeting, on behalf of the delegation, comrade Tran Thanh Tinh congratulated the success of the 18th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress and reported on some aspects of the operation of Viettel Group in general and Viettel Nghe An branch in particular in the recent past.

In Nghe An, Viettel branch has created jobs for 2,000 local workers, carried out many activities to support the poor, poor students to overcome difficulties and made a significant contribution to the provincial budget. In the coming time, Viettel Nghe An branch will support 1,000 phones with SIM cards for poor households in the province, especially those in coastal areas and in the western part of Nghe An.

The delegation representative proposed that Nghe An provincial leaders create favorable conditions to help Viettel Group in its areas of strength, support the completion of procedures related to BTS broadcasting stations in the province, and help deploy the 4G network before Tet.

Comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated Viettel's activities in recent times and asked the Group to continue paying attention to the province's social security issues.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc highly appreciated Viettel's progress in recent times. With many breakthroughs and rapid development, leading in technology, effective management with a streamlined apparatus, Viettel has become the leading telecommunications group in the country, especially paying much attention to Nghe An province.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the recommendations of the working group and promised to direct the Provincial People's Committee to cooperate with Viettel to select and effectively implement cooperation contents. Comrade Ho Duc Phoc suggested that in the coming time, Viettel should strengthen infrastructure development, especially BTS transmission stations, to help soon cover telecommunications in 11 districts of Western Nghe An; enhance services, implement a number of equipment manufacturing projects in Nghe An; support provincial departments, branches and sectors to install and use some software, build firewalls to ensure security... He also suggested that Viettel continue to pay attention to the social security of the province, especially 0.5 million ethnic minorities in the Western districts, contributing to the socio-economic development of Nghe An.
