Nghe An: Proposal to establish, merge, and rename 70 blocks and hamlets
(Baonghean.vn) - Based on the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee, at the meeting of the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee, the policy of establishing, merging, and renaming 70 blocks and hamlets in 7 districts and cities was agreed upon to be submitted to the upcoming second session of the Provincial People's Council.

Attending the meeting were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Nguyen Nam Dinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.
Policymerger, renaming blocks, hamlets, villages and hamlets in the province to streamline the apparatus, reduce the number of non-professional workers in hamlets, save on local budgets, and improve the management efficiency of the community of commune-level authorities has been issued by the People's Council of Nghe An province in a number of resolutions in 2020.
Through the implementation of resolutions ofPeople's CouncilThe province issued a decree, the whole province now has a total of 3,804 hamlets, a decrease of 2,082 hamlets compared to before the merger. However, there are still some hamlets that have not reached the required number of households.

Based on the proposal of the Provincial People's Committee, examining the draft resolution on the establishment, merger, and renaming of blocks and hamlets in communes in Anh Son, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen, Nghi Loc, Nghia Dan, Thanh Chuong districts and Vinh city; the members attending the meeting basically agreed with the contents presented by the Provincial People's Committee.
However, some members also raised concerns about separating some households in another hamlet and adding them to a hamlet to form a new hamlet. Similarly, it is necessary to consider changing the names of blocks, hamlets, villages, and hamlets after the merger.

Accordingly, this draft resolution mentions the establishment of 5 new hamlets and villages in 3 communes Thanh Duc, Thanh Mai and Thanh Thuy (Thanh Chuong district).

The merger of hamlets according to the draft resolution includes 17 hamlets into 9 hamlets in Dien Chau and Thanh Chuong districts and Vinh city.
The renaming of hamlets includes 48 hamlets; of which Anh Son district has 10 hamlets; Dien Chau district has 15 hamlets; Hung Nguyen district has 15 hamlets; Nghi Loc district has 7 hamlets; Nghia Dan district has 1 hamlet.

Also this morning, the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee also examined the draft resolution on approving the total number of employees receiving salaries from the budget, contract workers in public service units that have not yet ensured regular expenditures, and organizing associations in 2022; reporting on administrative reform work in the first 6 months of the year, tasks for the last 6 months of the year.
Examine the draft resolution regulating the number of deputy commanders of the Commune-level Military Command and the daily allowance level for the militia and self-defense force; draft resolution approving the project on organization, construction and operation of the militia and self-defense force for the 2021-2025 period in the province.
