Nghe An: Adjusting and increasing the entrance exam fee for grade 10 for the 2021-2022 school year

Today May 28,Department of Education and TrainingNghe An issued document 1039/SGDĐT - KHTC guiding the implementation of enrollment, admission and re-examination costs for grade 10 in the 2021-2022 school year.

Accordingly, the fee for admission services to grade 10 for the 2021-2022 school year in Nghe An province is regulated as follows: Entrance exam to grade 10: 250,000 VND/candidate.

In addition, if candidates apply for admission toGrade 10The fee will be 45,000 VND/candidate; Re-examination of admission to grade 10: For the first subject: 135,000 VND/candidate/subject; For the second subject and beyond: 35,000 VND/candidate/subject.

Fee collection is carried out in accordance with Resolution No. 31/2020/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2020 of the People's Council of Nghe An province on the regulation of maximum collection levels for service fees serving and supporting educational activities of schools for public educational institutions; collection levels for enrollment services at all levels in Nghe An province.

Previously, from 2020 onwards, the entrance fee for grade 10 was 100,000 VND/candidate. Thus, with this fee, the entrance fee for grade 10 from this year will increase by 150,000 VND compared to last year. However, the fee of 250,000 VND/candidate is still lower than the fee issued under Resolution No. 31/2020/NQ-HDND dated December 13, 2020 of the People's Council of Nghe An province, which is 30,000 VND (Resolution 31 stipulates the fee is 280,000 VND/candidate).

Immediately after the new fee was announced, the Department of Education and Training also responded to Nghe An Newspaper on this issue. Specifically, according to Mr. Nguyen Trong Hoan - Chief of Office of the Department of Education and Training, the new fee was approved by the People's Council based on Article 99 - New Education Law stipulating tuition fees and costs of education and training services. On the side of the Department of Education and Training, before building the new fee, there were specific calculations and maximum savings for each expense serving the process of organizing the 10th grade entrance exam.

In fact, the fee of 250,000 VND/candidate is not higher than previous years. For example, in the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2020-2021 school year according to Decision No. 2508/QD - Provincial People's Committee Decision on settling expenses and approving the budget for organizing the exams in 2020 (issued on July 28, 2020), the average 10th grade entrance exam fee for a candidate is 253,987 VND. However, of this amount, candidates only have to pay 100,000 VND, the remaining amount is provided by the Provincial People's Committee to support candidates. The total amount of support for the exam of the previous school year is 5,063,111,000 VND.

The 10th grade entrance exam is scheduled to be held on June 3 and 4, 2021. This year, Nghe An province has 36,395 candidates taking the exam at 69 councils with 1,548 exam rooms. Nghe An plans to mobilize 5,250 people to participate in the organization of the exam, including the chairman of the examination council, invigilators, security, service and medical staff.

Currently, the amount collected from candidates entering grade 10 has also been specifically allocated. Of which, the amount left for spending at the secondary school is 3,000 VND/candidate; Submitted to the Department of Education and Training is 23,000 VND/candidate to cover expenses such as expenses for receiving documents, stationery, correcting errors in exam data, overtime work, business expenses...

The remaining amount is paid to the high school (where the candidate registers for the first choice): 224,000 VND/candidate. Of which: the high school retains 91,000 VND/candidate, the remaining amount is paid to Le Viet Thuat High School (Vinh city) 133,000 VND/candidate (the exam marking unit) to perform tasks such as paying for exam preparation, exam records, essay exam papers; exam management and direction work and other expenses related to the entrance exam... according to the regulations and guidelines.
