Nghe An stops non-essential services to prevent and fight Covid-19 epidemic

On the morning of May 6, under the chairmanship of Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province held an urgent meeting to discuss a number of urgent solutions to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic. After listening to the opinions of the meeting participants, based on the assessment of the Covid-19 epidemic situation in the world as well as in the country, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung - Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control said that it is necessary to strengthen strong solutions in the coming time to ensure the most effective Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work.

Therefore, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial People's Committee Office to advise on the immediate issuance of a directive document, requesting departments, branches, organizations, and People's Committees at all levels to urgently announce the immediate suspension of non-essential service activities to prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic.

Services that have stopped operating include: Karaoke businesses, bars, dance clubs, saunas, massage parlors, sports rooms (gyms, yoga, billiards), electronic game centers, and public internet access points.

The suspension of operations begins at 12 noon today (May 6), until further notice.

Restaurants, eateries, cafes, traditional markets and other remaining businesses selling goods and services are allowed to operate but must ensure full implementation of Covid-19 prevention and control measures in accordance with regulations (requiring strict implementation of the 5K regulations, especially mandatory wearing of masks and hand sanitizer; participants must maintain a minimum distance of 1 meter; home delivery is encouraged; business owners must record and store all information of all employees and customers...).

In addition, activities that gather large crowds such as weddings, funerals, sightseeing tours, meetings; religious activities, etc. need to be limited and must ensure regulations in Covid-19 prevention.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors, unions, and People's Committees at all levels, according to their assigned functions, tasks, and authority, to organize and implement the regulations; strengthen inspection and supervision of compliance and strictly handle violating organizations/individuals.

Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung also requested media agencies to strengthen propaganda and guidance on implementing the Ministry of Health's 5K messages and recommendations; and to propagate the punishment of those who do not wear masks in public places.

The Provincial People's Committee issued an urgent dispatch at noon on May 6, 2021, directing the immediate cessation of non-essential activities to fight the epidemic.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Duc Trung also requested that heads of local Party committees and authorities, departments and branches must directly direct, regularly inspect and urge epidemic prevention work in the areas and fields under their management and must take full responsibility for violations in Covid-19 prevention and control work.
