Nghe An ranks 3rd in the country in voluntary blood donation.

(Baonghean.vn) - In 2015, Nghe An received nearly 23,000 units of blood (ranked 3rd in the country), reaching 144.44% of the plan, an increase of 5,151 units of blood compared to 2014.

On the morning of December 22, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Nghe An province held a conference to review the voluntary blood donation campaign in 2015 and deploy tasks for 2016.

Comrade Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Nghe An province chaired the conference.

Awarding certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 13 collectives and individuals with achievements in blood donation in 2015.

In 2015, blood donation in Nghe An province continued to develop and achieved many important achievements. The direction and organization of implementation from the province to the grassroots level were carried out carefully, seriously, scientifically and methodically, so the quality of blood donation sessions was increasingly improved.

Propaganda work on voluntary blood donation and blood diseases has received proper and thoughtful attention and investment; the duration and effectiveness of propaganda activities have been increased, thereby raising people's awareness and consciousness in blood donation.

Volunteer who donated blood 15 times to save lives spoke at the conference.

In 2015, Nghe An received nearly 23,000 units of blood (ranked 3rd in the country), reaching 144.44% of the plan, an increase of 5,151 units of blood compared to 2014; the rate of blood donation reached 0.67%. The provincial Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center produced 42,971 units of blood and blood products.

With the results achieved, in 2015, Nghe An province was awarded a certificate of merit by the National Blood Donation Steering Committee for its excellent implementation of the two blood donation campaigns "Spring Soul Festival" and "Red Journey"; 4 groups and 5 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the National Blood Donation Steering Committee and the Ministry of Health.

Comrade Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed his wish that everyone would actively participate in donating blood, promoting the good humanitarian gesture of Nghe An people.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Nghe An province, stated: Voluntary blood donation must be coordinated and participated in by all levels and sectors, and must be implemented promptly and safely; all people actively donate blood to save lives, build a sustainable, deep, wide and effective voluntary blood donation movement in the province, promoting the humanistic beauty of Nghe An people.

On this occasion, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Nghe An province awarded certificates of merit to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in the 2015 voluntary blood donation movement.
