Nghe An: Nearly 120 candidates absent on the first day of exam

(Baonghean.vn) -On June 2, more than 36,000 candidates in Nghe An province officially took the 2014 high school graduation exam. On the first day of the exam, nearly 120 candidates were absent with and without reason. Of which, Literature had the highest number of absent candidates: 69 candidates, Physics had 30 absent candidates and History had 19 absent candidates. Notably, 5 candidates were absent due to traffic accidents.

At the Examination Council of Le Viet Thuat High School, in the morning of the Literature exam, out of a total of 553 candidates, 2 candidates were absent from the exam. According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Diep - Principal of Nguyen Sy Sach High School (Thanh Chuong), Chairman of the Examination Council of Le Viet Thuat High School, 1 of the 2 candidates was absent without reason, violating the regulations, so the decision was made to suspend the exam, the remaining candidate submitted a request for permission to be absent from the exam for health reasons, with full hospital certificate and confirmation from the locality.

There were some candidates absent from the exam on the first day.

Similarly, in Con Cuong district, out of a total of 552 candidates, 1 candidate was absent from the exam without reason and received a decision to suspend the exam according to regulations and 1 candidate was absent for health reasons.

At the Examination Council of Nguyen Xuan On High School (Dien Chau), a record was made of one case of a candidate arriving past the scheduled time and being suspended from the exam.

Hoang Mai Town: Two candidates had a traffic accident before the exam day:

On the morning of June 2, 2014, the Steering Committee for the High School Graduation Exam of Hoang Mai town, led by Ms. Vu Thi Thao - Vice Chairwoman of the town People's Committee, inspected the graduation exam situation at two schools where candidates were absent from the first day of the exam due to traffic accidents.

Ms. Vu Thi Thao said: The two unfortunate candidates who had an accident on the evening of June 1st were Nguyen Duy Khanh, a 12B3 student at Hoang Mai High School with registration number 400203, in exam room number 9 at Hoang Mai High School. The second candidate was Nguyen Ba Huan, a 12B student at Bac Quynh Luu Private High School with registration number 410099, in exam room number 5 at Bac Quynh Luu Private High School.

According to information from Mr. Nguyen Viet Loc, head of the Department of Education and Training of Hoang Mai town, at around 8:00 p.m. on June 1, the two students went out for coffee together and unfortunately collided with a motorbike going in the opposite direction, causing an accident that left Khanh with a head injury and is currently being treated at Hiep Luc Hospital (Thanh Hoa City). Meanwhile, Huan suffered a less serious injury and is being treated at Quynh Lap Central Dermatology and Leprosy Hospital, Hoang Mai Town.
