Nghe An: Nearly 230 thousand people receive support from the second social security package
(Baonghean.vn) - In this second phase, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated funds to support beneficiaries of preferential allowances for people with revolutionary contributions; social protection beneficiaries receiving monthly allowances; and beneficiaries of poor and near-poor households.
The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision 1444QD-UBND dated May 11, 2020 on resolving funding to support people facing difficulties due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Accordingly, this time, the Provincial People's Committee will allocate funds for beneficiaries of preferential allowances for people with revolutionary contributions in 11 districts, cities and towns (previously, 10 districts, cities and towns and the Center for Nursing War Invalids and the Center for Nursing War Invalids with Psychiatric Disorders of Nghe An received support in the first phase); social protection beneficiaries receiving monthly social allowances in 16 districts, cities and towns; poor and near-poor households in 10 districts, cities and towns.

In the second phase, the whole province had 228,434 people supported from the 62 trillion VND social security package with a total cost of more than 255 billion VND.
Of these, 35,092 people are receiving preferential allowances for people with revolutionary contributions and will receive support of VND 500,000/month for 3 months; 76,984 people are social protection beneficiaries who are receiving monthly social allowances and will receive support of VND 500,000/month for 3 months; 116,358 people are poor and near-poor households and will receive support of VND 250,000/person/month for 3 months.
Also according to the provisions of this decision, the province requests the Chairman of the District People's Committee to arrange funds; organize payments for poor and near-poor households; coordinate with the Post Office to make timely payments to people with meritorious services to the revolution and social protection beneficiaries who are receiving monthly allowances.
Ms. Ho Thi Chau Loan - Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said: "Currently, the Department is issuing an official dispatch to request localities to report on the first payment to synthesize data. As for the group of workers, we are directing localities to carefully review in accordance with the spirit of Plan 226/KH-UBND on implementing policies to support people facing difficulties due to the Covid-19 pandemic that the province issued on April 29, 2020".
