Nghe An: 21,159 fewer applications for university and college entrance exams compared to 2013

According to statistics at the time of closing the application, this year the Nghe An Department of Education and Training received 52,133 applications for university and college entrance exams; compared to last year, a decrease of 21,159 applications.

Currently, Quynh Luu 2 High School has 536 12th grade students, but only 529 applications. The numbers for Quynh Luu 4 High School are 513/523; Anh Son 1 High School is 538/756; Anh Son 2 High School is 403/425; Dang Thai Mai High School is 533/765; Thanh Chuong 3 High School is 506/689;…. Up to 10/17 continuing education centers do not have any students submitting applications to take the university or college entrance exam.

In the whole province, the ratio of university and college entrance exam registration files in 2014 compared to the number of 12th graders (excluding students who graduated from high school from 2013 or earlier) was 52,133/35,592 (1.46). Meanwhile, this ratio in 2013 was 73,292/40,281 (1.82) and in 2012 was 83,430/40,887 (2.04).

According to the assessment of the application receiving department, this year there has been a sharp decrease in the number of applications for university and college entrance exams because high schools and continuing education centers have done a better job of promoting and guiding students' careers, so the number of fake applications is not as high as in previous years; many students feel that their abilities do not meet the requirements of the exam, so they do not submit their application and instead register for secondary school or vocational training.
