Nghe An: Prison sentences reduced for 57 prisoners

(Baonghean.vn) - On February 16, Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center held a ceremony to announce the Decision to reduce prison sentences during the 2015 Lunar New Year.

After a period of review, evaluation and serious approval in accordance with the provisions of the law, ensuring democracy, objectivity, fairness, publicity, transparency and strictness, the Council for considering proposals to reduce the term of serving prison sentences of Nghe An Provincial People's Court decided to reduce the term of serving prison sentences for 57 prisoners serving sentences at Nghe An Provincial Police Detention Center during the 2015 Lunar New Year. Notably, 19 prisoners had their prison sentences reduced completely.

The lenient policy of the Party and State demonstrates our nation's humanitarian tradition towards those who have made mistakes, and is also an opportunity to encourage criminals serving prison sentences to actively study, work, and reform themselves to strive and train to reform soon.
