Nghe An won 7 medals at the 2012 National Family Sports Tournament in the Northern Region.

(Baonghean)The National Family Sports Tournament in the Northern region was jointly organized by the General Department of Sports and Physical Training, the Vietnam Badminton Federation, and the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation in Tuyen Quang.

The tournament had 217 athletes from 15 provinces from Thua Thien - Hue and further north, competing in badminton and table tennis. Nghe An delegation had 12 athletes participating. At the end of the tournament, the delegation won a total of 7 medals of all kinds, including 4 medals in table tennis (1 Gold Medal in mixed doubles belonged to the pair of athletes Le Xuan Mac - Le Xuan Dinh Ngoc Son, 2 Bronze Medals in doubles belonged to the pairs Tran Van Lieu - Tran Van Duc and Trinh Xuan Tram - Trinh Xuan Hoang Anh, 1 Bronze Medal in mother-daughter doubles belonged to the pair Nguyen Thi Hue - Tran Van Duc) and 3 Bronze Medals in badminton with the following events: mother-daughter, father-son, husband and wife.
