Nghe An won the first Gold Medal at the 2002 National Sports Festival

This is the first Gold Medal of Nghe An sports delegation at theNational Sports Festival9th time - 2022.
In addition to winning the Gold Medal, Nguyen Trong Dung also broke the National Record in the 400m propeller hose event with a time of 3 minutes 2 seconds 08 (the old National Record was 3 minutes 2 seconds 14).

Nguyen Trong Dung is one of the athletes who is targeted to win a Gold Medal at the 9th National Sports Festival. Previously, in early September 2022, this athlete won 2 Gold Medals (200m fins and 4x100m fins relay), 1 Silver Medal (400m fins) at the 2022 World Diving Championships held in Thailand.

The 9th National Sports Festival - 2022 will be held from November 18 to December 21, 2022 (opening on December 9 and closing on December 21, 2022), with the participation of 63 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide, competing in 941 events of 43 sports.
Nghe An Sports Delegation participated in 20 events (Weightlifting, Sepak Takraw, Wrestling, Vovinam, Traditional Martial Arts, Pencak Silat, Boxing, Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Wushu, Karate, Shuttlecock, Petanque, Athletics, Diving, Muay, Jujitsu, Football, Pole Pushing and Tug of War) with 148 events; aiming to rank the entire delegation from 17th to 15th out of 65 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide.
