Nghe An province provides feedback on the draft charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.
On the afternoon of December 1st, the Provincial Federation of Labor Unions organized a workshop to gather feedback on the draft revised and supplemented Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union.
The draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the 2026-2031 term, has revised and supplemented existing shortcomings and obstacles, and added new content arising from practical requirements.
Specifically, the changes include: changing the name of the trade union's governing body; and adding Article 39 on the inspection, auditing, and supervision of trade union finances and assets, ensuring consistency with the Law.Trade UnionIn 2024, the agenda included clarifying regulations on trade union inspection committees at all levels; proposing amendments to the executive committee, standing committee, and regulations on unified meeting schedules in Article 15; providing feedback on the conditions for establishing grassroots trade unions, types of trade union organizations, and adding separate chapters on specialized trade unions, trade unions in public service units, and trade unions in specialized departments and units; proposing to reduce the union dues rate to 0.5% of salary; and amending regulations on trade union funding according to the new Trade Union Law...

Accordingly, the feedback is based on the principle of timeliness, concretizing new regulations of the Party and relevant laws of the State to supplement the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union. At the same time, it ensures the principles of organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union, in line with the international workers' movement and trade union activities, and in accordance with international conventions and treaties on labor and trade unions that Vietnam has signed.
The workshop recorded 12 comments on many important and practical issues related to target groups, union fees, and card regulations.union members, rights and responsibilities of trade union officials, benefits of union members compared to contribution levels, number of inspection committees, ranking of commune/ward trade unions...
Concluding the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Union, affirmed that this revision is comprehensive, necessary, and meets the requirements of the new situation, and acknowledged the heartfelt and responsible contributions of the delegates. From now until the Congress, grassroots trade unions at the commune and ward levels will continue to study and provide feedback; the opinions will continue to be added, creating an important foundation for trade union activities in the future. The feedback will be compiled, studied, incorporated, and finalized for presentation at the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union Congress.
