(Baonghean.vn) - Accepting a request from a man named Niem, San and Thon went to find 16-year-old girls and then tricked them into selling them to China to get 30 million VND to spend.

On the morning of April 10, the Provincial People's Court brought the case of Cut Thi San (born in 1986, residing in Na Luong 1 village, Huu Kiem commune, Ky Son district) and her accomplices to trial for the crime of "Buying and selling children".

Through public questioning in court, the defendants' criminal acts were clarified: Due to greed, after discussing with a person named Niem whose specific address and background is unknown, currently living in China, San discussed with his brother, Cut Van Thon (born in 1982, living in the same village) to find a daughter to sell to China as a wife.

For each child sent to China, San will pay Thon 5 million VND.

Around August 2014, Thon went to Keo Keng village, Keng Du commune and found two children, LTP (born in 1999) and MTT (born in 1999), who agreed to go to work as workers in Ho Chi Minh City.

Receiving the two children from Thon, San took them to Vinh City and told them, "Work in Saigon for low salary, go to China for light work but high salary. If you go, San will pay each family 9 million VND/month." Both children agreed.

San took the two children to Mong Cai - Quang Ninh and then continued to cross the border to China and sold them to a person named Niem for 200 million VND. After receiving the money, San sent 170 million VND to the two victims' families, 20 million VND to Thon for wages, and kept 10 million VND for personal expenses.

After three years of being sold as a wife to a Chinese man, MTT was allowed by her husband to return to her hometown. Because she had to endure hardship in a foreign land and did not live up to San’s previous promise, her family took T to the People’s Committee of the commune to denounce the actions of San and his brothers. Afterwards, San and Thon were arrested.

At the trial, both appeared to confess honestly and repent. Realizing that the two defendants' criminal acts were very dangerous to society, San had committed a crime once before and was sentenced to 9 years in prison for the same crime, but still refused to take that as a lesson.

After considering and reviewing the entire content of the case, the panel sentenced San to 8 years in prison, combined with the previous sentence of 9 years in prison, forcing him to serve a total sentence of 17 years in prison; Thon to 4 years in prison.

In addition, the provincial People's Court also ordered the confiscation of 190 million VND, the illegal profit from the crime. San was released on bail pending execution of the sentence because he is raising a child under 36 months old.
