Less than a month from now, the hot summer will begin, but Mr. Kha Van Tuan's family in Tan Tien village, Ngoc Lam resettlement commune (Thanh Chuong) and many other households in the village are always in a state of lack of domestic water.

Mr. Kha Van Tuan said that before moving in for a year, his family used a natural water source from the source built by the State. But after about a year, this project was completely damaged and could not be used, so his family and many other households here had to hire someone to dig a 20m deep well but still lacked water.

Mr. Vi Van Tuyen - Head of Tan Tien village, Ngoc Lam commune added:After the merger, the village now has more than 200 households, of which more than 50% of the people's wells are dry. To have water for daily use, these households have to go to streams and creeks to get water every day, which is very difficult.

Many families in the resettlement area of Thanh Son commune (Thanh Chuong) are also facing a shortage of domestic water. In Cha Coong village, Thanh Son commune, many people have to fetch water from streams and creeks. According to the locals, after the natural water project was damaged, the government had a policy to support each household to dig a well worth 4 million VND/well, but most of the wells do not have enough water for daily use, especially when the hot season comes.

The two resettlement communes of Ngoc Lam and Thanh Son were moved to Thanh Chuong district more than 10 years ago. The already difficult lives of the people have become even more difficult due to the lack of domestic water.

Discussing this issue, Mr. Luong Duc Thong - Vice Chairman of Thanh Son Commune People's Committee expressed his concern: Up to now, most of the drilled and dug wells in the commune have been exhausted, providing domestic water for resettled people in the commune is extremely necessary, especially when the hot summer is approaching. He hopes that the superiors will have measures to support people so that they can soon have a source of daily water.
