Nghe An completes universal preschool education for 5-year-old children

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 29, a working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training led by Ms. Ly Thi Hang, Deputy Director of the Department of Preschool Education, had a working session with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to announce the results of the inspection and recognition of universal preschool education for 5-year-old children in Nghe An province.

Receiving and working with the delegation was comrade Le Minh Thong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for CMC - PCGD & XDXHHT.

Representative of the Ministry of Education and Training reported on the results of the inspection of universal education work in Nghe An.

The work of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children began in 2011. After 5 years of implementation, the preschool education system of Nghe An province has developed with 524 preschools (an increase of 16 schools compared to 2011). Of which, there are 500 public schools and 24 non-public schools (an increase of 6 public schools and 10 non-public schools). 21/21 districts, cities and towns have met the standards of universalizing preschool education for 5-year-old children (reaching a rate of 100%), the rate of 5-year-old children attending class is 99.85%, the rate of recognized communes and wards is 95.2%.

At the meeting, the head of the working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training reported on the results of the inspection of the province's preschool education universalization work. In particular, he highly appreciated the attention, leadership and direction of the provincial Party Committee and People's Committee in the work of planning and implementing the universalization work.

The province has also made great efforts in building infrastructure, successfully converting 353 kindergartens from semi-public to public. A system of spacious schools has been built to meet the needs of childcare. The quality of teaching and the teaching staff are highly standardized with 95% of teachers teaching 5-year-old classes above training standards. The rate of mobilizing 5-year-old children to attend class is high, the children are intelligent, healthy, and communicate well. 3/3 basic criteria are met.

Comrade Le Minh Thong and Comrade Ly Thi Hang signed the minutes recognizing the results of universal education testing for 5-year-old children in Nghe An.

In addition, the delegation also hopes that in the coming time, the province will continue to pay attention to investing, planning the school network, purchasing equipment. Continue to pay attention to the quality of the teaching staff and ensure the regime for teachers.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Minh Thong thanked and appreciated the attention of the Ministry of Education and Training for the universalization of preschool education for 5-year-old children in Nghe An province. Nghe An province will continue to direct the universalization of preschool education for 5-year-old children to achieve even better results in the coming time, especially in difficult areas, mountainous areas, and remote areas.
