Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong reported on the socio-economic situation in the first 7 months of the year and the direction and tasks for 2015 of the province.

Currently, the province has formed a diverse network of credit institutions with 35 commercial banks (CBs), level 1 commercial bank branches; 207 dependent branches, transaction offices, savings funds, etc. In the first 7 months of the year, the State Bank of Vietnam, Nghe An branch, has strived to complete assigned tasks, the operations of credit institutions (CIs), CI branches in the area basically complied with legal regulations, were in the right direction and mostly achieved the goals set at the beginning of the year.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee outlined a number of tasks and solutions to implement the socio-economic development plan in the last months of the year and proposed a number of recommendations to the Working Group, requesting the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam to pay attention to directing and supporting the province in a number of contents such as: speeding up the appraisal and lending progress according to Decree 67/ND-CP; supporting and creating conditions to call on domestic and foreign banks, financial companies, etc. to set up headquarters and expand their networks in Nghe An so that the province becomes a financial center of the region; supporting capital sources for social security work, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Van Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam praised and congratulated the achievements that Nghe An province has achieved in recent times, highly appreciated the GDP growth index and industrial development of the province compared to the general level of the whole country.

Regarding banking activities, he commented that capital mobilization in the area was very good, credit growth was high (9.1% compared to the whole system's 8%), bad debt was less than half of the national average; he highly appreciated the province's credit network, stating that it was a favorable condition for the province to develop in the coming time.

Comrade Nguyen Van Binh specifically responded to the province's recommendations, especially emphasizing the need to be resolute but also extremely cautious when implementing Decree 67/ND-CP; it is necessary to make people aware that this is a policy of the Party and the State that is closely concerned, requesting commercial banks to direct their branches to take drastic action, upgrading the offshore fishing capacity of Nghe An province in particular as well as the whole country in general.

The Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam also acknowledged the province's proposal and promised to soon direct commercial banks to meet the province's requirements, affirming that Nghe An has all the conditions to develop into a regional financial center.

Concluding the meeting, comrade Ho Duc Phoc thanked the Governor of the State Bank in particular and the entire banking system in general for their comprehensive attention to the development of the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary also affirmed that Nghe An has had a big change in development situation in many fields after 2 years of drastic implementation of Resolution 26-NQ/TW dated July 30, 2013 of the Politburo, and promised to continue to make efforts to develop further in the coming time, contributing to the overall development of the country.
