Nghe An: More than 100 kg of borax and half a ton of jujube of unknown origin

(Baonghean.vn) - A large quantity of borax and jujube used in traditional Chinese medicine of unknown origin has just been discovered and seized by authorities.

On the afternoon of May 11, while checking goods at Yen Mien agency specializing in trading dry goods, spices, and agricultural products in front of Vinh market bus station (in Vinh Tan ward), the Mobile Team (Provincial Market Management Department) discovered 114 kg of borax and nearly 500 kg of Chinese medicinal jujubes without labels and documents proving their origin, worth more than 10 million VND.

Authorities check goods of unknown origin.

According to the dealer, all the borax was purchased according to customer orders for use in soldering. The mobile market management team has administratively sanctioned the above establishment for trading in food of unknown origin.

Nearly 500 grams of dried jujube were seized.

At the same time, make a record to temporarily detain all the above goods for handling according to the provisions of law.
