Nghe An: More than 100 houses affected by tornado

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 24, the People's Committee of Que Phong district established a working group to inspect the damage caused by the tornado in Chau Thon commune.

Previously, at 6 p.m. on April 23, a heavy rain and tornado occurred in Chau Thon commune. Lasting for more than an hour, the tornado affected more than 100 households. The tornado collapsed the house of Mr. Lo Van Hoang's family in Na Ty village. Mr. Hoang's 6-year-old son and his wife, Ha Thi Thuong, were injured by tree branches and beams falling on them. Both are currently being treated, while the child is being treated at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.

Tornadoes and heavy rains also affected crop areas in two villages: Na Ty and Na Lan.

Ms. Truong Thi Tuyet Mai - Vice Chairwoman of Que Phong District People's Committee said that the district is continuing to send delegations to the area to inspect and review the extent of damage to support people to overcome the consequences. Accordingly, any family whose house completely collapsed will be supported with 20 million VND, any family whose roof was blown off or severely damaged will be supported with 10 - 15 million VND.
