Nghe An: More than 2,400 young volunteers are ready to support students

Implementing Plan No. 45-KH/TWHSV, dated May 20, 2022 of the Vietnam Student Association on organizing the Program“Supporting the 2022 exam season”, Coordination program between the Department of Education and Training and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province for the 2021-2022 school year, Plan No. 4537-KH/TĐTN-PT dated May 13, 2022 of the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union on the implementation of the 2022 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Secretariat of the Provincial Student Association issued a Plan to organize the "Exam Support" Program in 2022 with many important contents.

Accordingly, under the direction of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, Nghe An youth have established 305 volunteer teams (103 teams on duty and operating at the exam sites; 58 taxi and motorbike taxi teams to support candidates' travel; 142 teams of blue-shirt tutors to support candidates in reviewing knowledge at home and in the hall) with a total of 2,420 volunteers.

Comrade Thai Minh Sy - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Student Association said that the content of the "Supporting the Exam Season" Program in 2022 for the youth of the whole province will be divided into two stages: Before the exam takes place and during the exam.

Specifically, before the exam took place, the Youth Union branches in the whole province organized consultation sessions, shared experiences, and helped students feel confident when taking the exam; established teams of lecturers, young teachers, and students with good academic achievements in localities to support knowledge review for students with especially difficult circumstances online or in person; continued to effectively promote the models of "Green Shirt Tutor", "Green Shirt Shipper", "One teacher, lecturer, student supporting one candidate"...

At the same time, proactively review and develop support plans for students in difficult circumstances; orphans, disabled students, poor students overcoming difficulties, poor households, near-poor households; Implement specific activities to ensure the health of candidates before the exam such as: raising awareness, providing instructions on preventing infectious diseases, providing free medicine, implementing plans to prevent and combat Covid-19 epidemic that may occur at exam sites, exam registration sites with a large number of candidates...

In addition, proactively organize training on knowledge and skills for volunteer teams; the number of volunteer teams should be appropriate to the support needs. Note that it is necessary to survey and clearly identify actual needs to develop appropriate plans.

During the High School Graduation Exam, volunteer teams coordinate with authorities, medical facilities, and testing locations to review and grasp information about the situation of candidates in the locality and develop proactive plans to handle any unusual incidents related to weather, accidents, or candidates' health.

From there, proactively deploy COVID-19 prevention and control activities at examination sites such as: Providing hand sanitizer in front of examination rooms, providing free masks for candidates and their families when coming to the examination area. Free pick-up and drop-off activities for candidates in special circumstances and candidates with disabilities have also been carefully planned.

Coordination with authorities has also been strengthened to promptly prevent negative phenomena affecting candidates such as: issuing illegal documents, increasing prices of products and services, causing insecurity, disorder, traffic safety...; organizing volunteer teams to guide and direct traffic to ensure traffic safety at 2022 exam sites with high traffic density.
