Nghe An: More than 22 thousand hectares of rice infected with various types of planthoppers

According to information from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, currently pests in rice fields are developing very rapidly, especially planthoppers of all kinds.

If by August 4, the whole province only had 16,570 hectares infected with planthoppers, now it has increased to 22,145 hectares of rice, of which 727 hectares are heavily infected. Localities with large areas infected with planthoppers are Do Luong 6,904 hectares, Yen Thanh 4,945 hectares, Nam Dan 1,638 hectares, etc.

Black-striped dwarf disease has damaged over 0.5 hectares. In addition to Yen Thanh and Do Luong, Con Cuong has also had rice areas affected by this disease. The fourth generation of small leaf rollers has a slower spread, but has also arisen and caused damage at high density over a large area in midland and mountainous districts, with 10,679 hectares of rice infected.
