Nghe An: More than 30 serious landslides affect traffic due to floods

(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, due to prolonged heavy rain, some roads in mountainous districts of Nghe An have had 30 landslides, causing traffic congestion.

National Highway 16 is a nearly 150 km long arterial road connecting National Highways 48 and 7 between Ky Son and Que Phong districts (Nghe An) and is suffering from serious landslides. At Km 353+350 (My Ly commune, Ky Son district): The negative slope has collapsed, the road surface has sunk 0.7 m deep, causing danger and traffic insecurity. The management unit has closed the road to prohibit people and vehicles from passing.

At Km 390+520 (Pha Danh commune, Ky Son district): Landslide of positive slope of soil and rock overflowed onto the road surface 15m long, 6.5m wide, 2.2m high causing traffic jam (215m3According to statistics, National Highway 16 has 10 large and small landslides.

For provincial road 543 C connecting Hoa Binh town, Tuong Duong to Yen Tinh commune, there are 16 landslide points. For example, at Km31+700 (Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district): Positive slope collapsed, filled the ditch, overflowed onto the entire road surface, 30m long, 8m wide, 0.5 - 1.2m high.

At Km41+900 (Huu Khuong commune, Tuong Duong district): The positive slope collapsed, filling the ditch and spilling onto the road surface, 35m long, 8m wide, 0.3 - 1.2m high (traffic has been blocked)... Currently, this road is blocked and traffic is isolated.

Provincial Road 543, at Km 8+950 (Muong Long Commune, Ky Son District): Landslide of positive slope of soil and rock overflowed onto the road surface, 29m long, 9m wide, 2m high, causing traffic congestion for many days.

In addition to landslides on traffic routes, there are currently more than 20 flooded spots on national and provincial highways in Nghe An with water depths ranging from 0.5 to 2 meters.
