(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 8, at VSIP Industrial Park, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee organized a provincial-level firefighting and rescue drill in 2023.
Attending the event were: Major General Pham The Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police Department; Colonel Nguyen Duy Thanh - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department; representatives of departments and branches who are members of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee.

The drill had 274 participants, from units of the Provincial Police; Fire Prevention and Fighting Teams of units and enterprises in VSIP Industrial Park; VSIP Nghe An Fire Prevention and Fighting Team; Vinh International Airport Fire Prevention and Fighting Team; Cau Bach Water Plant; Nghe An Urban Environment Joint Stock Company; Hung Nguyen District Electricity; Hung Nguyen District Medical Center. Regarding vehicles, there were over 20 specialized vehicles for firefighting, rescue, and other vehicles.

The purpose of the exercise is to improve the ability to organize, command, and direct, build an operational mechanism, and coordinate operations between the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force, firefighting and rescue forces in the province in handling fire and explosion situations. Through that, promote propaganda and strongly promote the movement of all people participating in fire prevention and rescue work in the whole province.
At the same time, well implement the "4 on-site" motto (On-site forces, on-site means, on-site command and on-site logistics); raise awareness of fire prevention and rescue work for people working at storage, production and business facilities with high fire and explosion risks. At the same time, enhance the ability to be on standby, ready to respond and handle fire fighting and rescue situations of on-site forces.

During the drill, the hypothetical situation was that a group of workers from Factory Area A5 - Lot CN-E2 (E2-02) of BCI Joint Stock Company - a place that produces products related to the garment industry, used welding and cutting equipment to repair the sewing line. Due to not following fire safety regulations when welding and cutting metal, welding and cutting dust was thrown onto a nearby bale of fabric, causing a fire.

Upon detecting the fire, the security force alerted the entire company area and, at the same time, notified the VSIP Specialized Fire Prevention and Fighting Team, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Force (via phone number 114) and deployed a plan to respond to fire and explosion incidents. After arriving at the scene of the fire, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Force and the Provincial Police urgently requested relevant forces to coordinate, cooperate, and synchronously deploy a plan for rescue, search and rescue, and to control and completely extinguish the fire.

At the end of the drill, the Provincial Police leaders acknowledged and commended all forces participating in the drill for successfully completing the drill according to the program, scenario, content, and requirements. At the same time, through the drill, they hoped that the forces and units would continue to promote the effectiveness of fire fighting and rescue work, contributing to minimizing damage to property and people if a fire occurs.
