Nghe An prosecutes 3 defendants for abusing position and power

The assessment of the situation in the province in May shows that security and order in the area are basically stable; all sectors in the sector have performed their tasks well. Crime prevention and combat work has been vigorously deployed; the rate of investigation of crimes against social order is high; many large drug trafficking and transportation rings have been discovered and arrested.

Specifically, regarding crimes of official corruption, in the month, 1 case of abuse of position and power in performing official duties was prosecuted against 3 defendants at Yen Thanh Protective Forest Management Board, including: Phan Tien Sy - Head of the Board, Nguyen Tho Huy - Deputy Head of the Board, Nguyen Van Thanh - Head of Planning and Investment Department.

Regarding drug crimes, 114 cases, 155 subjects were arrested, 1.13 kg of heroin, 0.17 tons of crystal meth, 143 grams and 6,939 synthetic drug pills were seized. Regarding violations of economic and environmental laws, 312 cases, 327 subjects were arrested, 2.6 tons of animals and 26m³wood of all kinds

In the province, there were 13 traffic accidents in the month, killing 10 people and injuring 5 others. The provincial police received and resolved 435 reports (of which 252 were new crime reports); processed 269 reports (225 criminal cases were prosecuted, 2 reports were temporarily suspended, the rest are being verified). Investigated 274 cases, 433 defendants, proposed to prosecute 235 cases, 425 defendants. Arrested and persuaded 11 wanted subjects to surrender.

In May, agencies and units in the province received 632 citizens; received 614 petitions, including 58 complaints and 38 denunciations. Resolved 42/53 cases (79.2%).

Inspection work was also strengthened with 53 administrative inspections at 110 units; thereby detecting 29/110 units with violations with a total amount of 2,819 million VND. To date, 1,370 million VND has been recovered. In specialized inspections, 76 inspections were conducted on 163 organizations and 659 individuals, mainly in the fields of transportation, industry and trade, science and technology, and natural resources and environment. Thereby, 71 organizations and 299 individuals were detected with violations, and a fine of 1,049 million VND was recommended.

Deploying tasks for June, in addition to regular contents, the conference noted the implementation of the plan to ensure absolute safety for important events of the province, high-ranking delegations of the Party, State, international guests visiting and working in Nghe An. Launching peak campaigns to crack down on all types of crimes, especially murder, intentional injury, robbery, property robbery, human trafficking. Strengthening fire prevention and fighting; preventing drowning in hot weather...

The conference also noted that localities continue to effectively implement Regulation No. 11-QDi/TW of the Politburo on the responsibility of Party leaders in receiving citizens, having direct dialogue with people and handling people's feedback and recommendations.
