(Baonghean.vn) - Continuing the plan to inspect and rectify illegal coastal exploitation activities in 2021, in May, the provincial interdisciplinary delegation conducted coastal monitoring trips, thereby arresting and penalizing 4 more cases of violating fishing vessels.

That is the case of a fishing boat with license plate NA - 90444- TS, 16.8 m long, owned by Mr. Tran Van Hung in Dong Loc hamlet, Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district.punish10 million VND for not fully recording fishing logs and abandoning fishing gear in natural waters when the inspection team approached.

Then, in the last days of May, through inspection, the delegation fined 12.5 million VND for fishing boat with license plate NA- 70463-TS, 10.9m long, owned by Mr. Tran Van Minh in Nghi Thuy commune, Cua Lo town for storing electric shock tools at sea; fined 10 million VND for fishing boat with license plate NA- 90921-TS, 18.2m long, owned by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Bich in Dien Ngoc commune, Dien Chau district for not fully recording the fishing logbook for fishing boats with the longest length under 24 meters; fined 2.5 million VND for fishing boat with license plate TH- 90128-TS owned by Mr. Pham Viet Thang in Nghi Son town (Thanh Hoa) for the act ofillegal dumping of fishing gearinto natural waters.

Compared to previous trips, based on the direction of the province and the leadership of the Fisheries Department, the delegation tried to approach and inspect the procedures of offshore and inshore fishing vessels to remind and propagate compliance with procedures when going out to sea to fish. Thanks to that, in addition to inspecting and penalizing small inshore fishing vessels that have violated the regulations as before, the delegation also reminded and penalized 3 vessels with a length of over 15m fishing offshore.

In total, implementing the 2021 inspection plan of the Provincial People's Committee, after 2 months, 4 trips were launched to inspect and supervise with a total of 36 days at sea; observing 399 vehicles, directly propagating to fishermen aboutFisheries Lawand protect aquatic resources on 63 vehicles, directly remind 25 vehicles because of poor quality life buoys, life jackets and life buoys not placed in accordance with regulations; fine 10 cases/vehicle with a total amount of 75.8 million VND, confiscate 13 electric generators, 1 fishing net and 275m of electric wire.
