Nghe An: Installing 7 meteorological monitoring stations to warn of forest fires
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Forestry Department in coordination with the Forestry University is installing 7 hydrometeorological monitoring stations in 7 districts to serve weather forecasting and forest fire risk warning in the province.

Mr. Vuong Van Quynh - Lecturer of the Forestry University said: The Hydrometeorological Monitoring Station Project produced by the Forestry University is supported by the Forestry Department with a budget of 50 million VND/station, installed at the center of the ranger stations. Currently, 3/7 stations have been installed in districts with key pine forests such as Do Luong, Nam Dan... It is expected that the installation will be completed around April 10.
This hydrometeorological monitoring station is one of the advanced equipment applications in monitoring meteorological conditions including 5 climatic factors: Automatically measuring temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind direction, wind speed.
In unpredictable weather conditions, the installation of meteorological monitoring stations is necessary, providing effective support in forecasting, warning, and forest fire prevention and fighting in Nghe An.

(Baonghean.vn) - At 3am on July 18, 2016, a fire broke out in a pine forest in Hamlet 4, Khanh Son Commune, Nam Dan District. The fire burned down 5 hectares of forest and spread to Hamlet 10, Nam Loc Commune.
