Nghe An expands opportunities for connection and product trade

Strengthening trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand, and bringing Vietnamese goods to rural and mountainous areas helps stimulate consumption, support production, business, and develop domestic and foreign markets.

OCOP products seek to reach the market

Realizing the potential of Vietnamese agricultural land and agricultural products, especially cereals, in August 2020, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tuan and Ms. Phan Thi Lien joined hands to found the Hadalifa nutritional cereal brand in Nghi Hoa ward, Cua Lo town (now Hadalifa Nutrition Company Limited).

Currently, the company is cooperating with cooperatives to build a 240-hectare clean raw material area to ensure proactive raw materials, grown and cared for according to clean agricultural product standards in districts in the province. In 2023, the company's Hadalifa cereal powder product was recognized as meeting 3-star OCOP standards. In 2024, Hadalifa cereal was recognized by the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee as a typical rural industrial product at the provincial level.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the company's revenue reached more than 10 billion VND, creating jobs for 9 employees, with an average income of 12 million VND/person/month.

In order for OCOP products to reach consumers and expand the market, businesses regularly participate in fairs nationwide, promoting and searching for foreign markets such as Thailand, Russia, etc. Ms. Phan Thi Lien - Director of the company shared: "Participating in fairs and conferences connecting supply and demand is an opportunity for us to promote and introduce products and reach consumers. Therefore, whenever there is an opportunity, we learn to participate. Thanks to that, the products reach many customers, expand market share, and contribute to bringing clean, quality products to consumers."

It is worth noting that many businesses are constantly improving product quality, investing in packaging, labels, and seeking output markets. Grasping that trend, agencies and organizations continuously organize trade promotion activities, connect supply and demand of goods, and hold Vietnamese goods markets.

Recently, for 3 days (October 28-30), in Tuong Duong district, the Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development of Nghe An province coordinated with the People's Committee of Tuong Duong district to organize a market for typical agricultural products and OCOP products. The market attracted a large number of enterprises, cooperatives, and typical farmers in the agricultural sector to participate in displaying their products. With a scale of 25 booths, of which Tuong Duong district had 10 booths, the remaining booths came from localities in the province such as: Dien Chau, Do Luong, Anh Son, Con Cuong. This is an opportunity for units to introduce their products to consumers, distributors, agents, and supermarkets.

Previously, to enhance trade promotion and product consumption, on October 25, Vinh City People's Committee organized the event Connecting supply and demand of goods. This event attracted 40 enterprises in Nghe An province to participate in introducing and promoting typical products and OCOP products, with 200 items displayed at booths along both sides of Ho Tung Mau walking street (Vinh City). The program was organized to support production and business units of OCOP products and typical products of Vinh City and districts and towns in the province. Search and expand consumption markets; bring products to the system of supermarkets, distributors, and suppliers in the area.

Up to now, 124/403 OCOP products; 27/96 typical rural industrial products are agricultural products and products processed from agricultural products. Products produced in the area have entered the supply chain system such as BigC, MM Mega Market, Lotte, Bach Hoa Xanh, Aeon, Maxi Mart... and the system of food stores and grocery stores belonging to establishments such as: Bien Quynh Joint Stock Company (12 products), Thanh Phuc Clean Vermicelli Company, Luong Son Rice Paper Company (3 products), Pu Mat Medicinal Herbs Company (13 products), Do Luong Confectionery Facility (3 products), Lotus Peanuts of Sy Thang Agricultural and Forestry Products Company (2 products), Vinh Ky Yen Oranges of Phu Quy Farm Joint Stock Company...

Strengthening trade connections

For a long time, the images of companies and enterprises such as Hadalifa Nutrition Company Limited, C&G Food Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Seafood Joint Stock Company, Hang Moon Herbal Import-Export Company Limited, Tu Phuong Food Joint Stock Company... are no longer strange to consumers. OCOP products displayed and introduced by representatives of Nghe An companies and enterprises at the event have brought richness and diversity of products; attracting the attention of many people and domestic and foreign partner organizations.

At the events, export enterprises, domestic distributors and foreign distributors have the opportunity to meet reputable OCOP entities to expand and diversify their purchasing sources.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep - Head of Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade said: In recent times, we have increased support for businesses to develop the domestic market and trade promotion activities, trade connection, and product consumption. Organize booths to display goods and products for consumers in a series of events responding to Vietnam Consumer Rights Day; Develop a plan to organize a Vietnamese goods fair in the mountainous areas in the district; Organize Nghe An business delegations to participate in trade connection activities at major domestic fairs.

“We also regularly coordinate with localities, organize work, grasp the operational situation of enterprises, production facilities and the situation of harvesting and consuming agricultural products in the area to promptly accompany and support, remove difficulties, and provide information to serve the connection of agricultural product consumption. When participating in product display, production households, cooperatives, and enterprises all wish to connect and select products to put on the shelves of large supermarkets. Thereby, increasing market share, revenue, and bringing products closer to consumers,” shared the Head of Trade Management Department, Department of Industry and Trade.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade organizes trade connection conferences between Nghe An province enterprises and enterprises in Houston, Texas (USA); organizes working delegations to attend trade connection programs and fairs in Phnom Penh - Cambodia and participates in domestic and foreign trade promotion activities: Provincial booths and participate in the event chain "Connecting international supply chains" in Ho Chi Minh City and the event chain to promote trade, develop export and import in the Central region in Da Nang...

For textile and garment products, the industry actively supports textile and garment enterprises to participate in trade promotion activities, contact trade counselors to expand, find consumption markets, etc. It is noted that at some enterprises such as Minh Anh Kim Lien, Hi-Tex, Sangwoo, Woin Vina, etc., there have been positive signals about increased orders in the first months of 2024.

The leader of the Department of Industry and Trade said that currently, along with strengthening the supply-demand connection activities, expanding the agricultural product consumption market, focusing on exploiting the domestic market, the Industry and Trade sector is promoting the implementation of e-commerce connection activities, supporting businesses in applying trade in product distribution and consumption activities. Effectively deploying information technology platforms applied to trade promotion activities, in order to meet the requirements of trade promotion activities in the new situation, improving competitiveness. Implementing new forms of trade promotion through the network environment, digital transformation, effectively participating in the digital trade promotion ecosystem.
