During the year, many households in the province raised specialties: apple snails, frogs, eels, soft-shell turtles... and some specialty fish. Currently, the whole province has 858 fish cages on large water surfaces, an increase of 100 cages compared to 2019. 50% of the cages are specialty fish: Lang, leo, crispy carp, crispy grass carp.
At the conference, some individuals involved in aquaculture shared some experiences in raising golden apple snails and some specialty fish that bring high economic efficiency. At the same time, it was said that in 2019, the aquaculture production sector had many difficulties due to weather, diseases...; many diseases occurred in farming subjects, especially brackish shrimp. It was proposed that the authorities strengthen the inspection and supervision of shrimp seed and shrimp feed business.
Continue to comply with technical farming procedures and prevent diseases.
Mr. Tran Huu Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that in 2019, white spot disease appeared and caused greater damage than the previous year. The reason was that due to complicated weather conditions, some shrimp farming households did not strictly comply with disease declaration, epidemic prevention, and disinfection before and after the disease occurred. Some households did not comply with technical farming processes... In addition, although shrimp output increased compared to the previous year, the selling price of commercial shrimp decreased, leading to a decrease in value.
