Nghe An receives 71 sets of martyrs' remains from Laos
This morning, April 25, in Phonsavanh town, Xieng Khuoang province, Lao PDR, the Special Working Group of Nghe An province led by Mr. Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a meeting with leaders of Xieng Khuoang and Vientiane provinces to receive the handover of 71 sets of martyrs' remains.
(Baonghean) -This morning, April 25, in Phonsavanh town, Xieng Khuoang province, Lao PDR, the Special Working Group of Nghe An province led by Mr. Tran Hong Chau - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, had a meeting with leaders of Xieng Khuoang and Vientiane provinces to receive the handover of 71 sets of martyrs' remains.
These are the graves of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos during the resistance wars against the invasion of Laos and Vietnam in the past. Attending the ceremony to hand over the martyrs' remains, Major General Kensymanivong, on behalf of the Lao Government's Special Working Group, acknowledged the invaluable sacrifices of the heroic martyrs who fell for the independence and prosperity of Laos, forever enhancing the special solidarity and friendship of the two Parties, two Governments and peoples of the two countries to constantly develop.
Mr. Ho Trong Binh - Head of the Nghe An Province Reclamation Team said that the graves collected this time are mainly individual graves, scattered in the most difficult areas of the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Vientiane. In addition, this time, a mass grave with 16 sets of remains was also collected, with information provided by people on the other side of the previous battle line.
Tomorrow, April 26, the Nghe An Province Special Working Group will bring these remains back to the martyrs' cemetery in Do Luong District for a solemn burial on April 27. This time, there are 3 known martyrs whose names and hometowns will be announced later by the Military Region 4 Policy Department. Thus, in both collection periods of the 2010-2011 dry season, the Nghe An Province Collection Group has brought back 160 sets of martyrs' remains to the country.
