Nghe An: Many groups of indicators of the National Target Program basically achieved the plan.

To implement the ProgramNational goals(National Target Program) for socio-economic development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas (MT&MN) in the period of 2021-2025 (MT Program 1719), Nghe An province has established a Steering Committee and a support apparatus from the provincial level down to the grassroots level. The standing agency, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, has established a Working Group on the MT Program 1719 to coordinate, research, and direct the resolution of tasks with the goal of effectively implementing the Program throughout the province.

Thanks to the synchronous, drastic and responsible participation of the entire political system, the policies of the National Target Program 1719 have been implemented relatively synchronously and on schedule. Therefore, the results achieved are very positive, the goals and targets of the Program in the province have basically been achieved as planned.

According to the assessment of the Provincial People's Committee, the target groups and targets achieved the assigned plan include: Target on poverty reduction rate among ethnic minorities, with an average annual poverty reduction rate of over 3%; target on average income of ethnic minorities by the end of 2024 reaching about 38.4 million VND/person/year; target group on education achieved 5/5 targets.

The target of the proportion of workers of working age receiving vocational training suitable to the needs and conditions of ethnic minorities and the characteristics of ethnic minority and mountainous areas by the end of 2024 is 51.5%, achieving the assigned target (50%). Notably, a group of other basic indicators such as solving residential land, housing, centralized domestic water... have also achieved the assigned target from the beginning of the period.

Investment resources from the Program continue to contribute to changing the picture of ethnic minority areas for the better.ethnic minoritiesand mountainous areas in the province: Traffic infrastructure, schools, medical stations, electricity grid, domestic water... are constantly invested in, newly built, upgraded, repaired, and the new rural construction is increasingly prosperous, solving the essential needs of the people in production, business, trade, study, and health care.

Evaluating the results of the National Target Program 1719 for the period 2021 - 2025, Comrade Phung Thanh Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said: Investment and support contents directly related to the people have brought positive effects, creating livelihoods, improving people's knowledge, and gradually stabilizing their material and spiritual lives, contributing significantly to preserving and promoting the good cultural identities of ethnic minorities.

The socio-economy has gradually developed, the fields of health, culture, education and training have had positive changes; social policy work has received attention; the political system has been increasingly strengthened, consolidated and built firmly; the people of all ethnic groups in the province are united, complying with and implementing well the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws, and the regulations of the local government; the security situation, social order and safety in ethnic minority and mountainous areas have been ensured.
