Nghe An launches movement to use energy economically and efficiently in schools

On the morning of May 18, at Nguyen Canh Chan High School (Thanh Chuong district), the Energy Conservation Center, Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with Nghe An Electricity Company to organize the launching ceremony of the campaign to use energy economically and efficiently in schools in 2022.

The campaign aims to disseminate information, mobilize cadres, teachers, students and people to raise awareness, thereby bringing about strong changes in actions on using energy economically and efficiently in schools, units and communities.

March 13, 2019, People's CommitteeNghe An provinceissued Decision No. 32/QD-dated January 7, 2021 approving the plan for the program of economical and efficient energy use in Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025. The goal is to mobilize all resources to promote economical and efficient energy use through the synchronous implementation of tasks and solutions for state management, technical support, scientific and technological research and product development, market transformation, training and human resource development... to achieve an energy saving level of 5-7% of total energy consumption for the period 2021-2025.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Tran Thanh Hai - Deputy DirectorDepartment of Industry and Tradeemphasizes: In recent years, the energy sector in general and the electricity sector in particular have had rapid and relatively synchronous development in all sub-sectors and fields. However, the goal of ensuring national energy security still faces many challenges; domestic supply sources are not enough to meet demand, energy imports are increasingly large; many power projects are behind schedule compared to planning and plans. The efficiency of energy exploitation and use is still low... while energy sources such as coal, gasoline, oil, natural gas... are gradually depleted.

The launching ceremony will help raise awareness and responsibility of everyone in using energy efficiently. From there, there will be specific actions in purchasing, using and operating energy-using vehicles and equipment to bring the most efficiency.

At the same time, implement energy saving solutions, convert to high-efficiency energy-using equipment, and apply renewable energy solutions (solar energy, biogas, biomass energy, etc.) to make an important contribution to ensuring and stabilizing national energy security.

Speaking at the ceremony, representatives of Nghe An Electricity Company, Thanh Chuong district and Nguyen Canh Chan High School pledged to actively respond and seriously implement the Program on economical and efficient energy use at the unit and spread it to many localities and communities.
