(Baonghean.vn) - On June 9, Mr. Dinh Viet Hong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and representatives of relevant departments and branches to listen to and give opinions on adjusting and supplementing the planning for industrial tea development in Nghe An province until 2020; planning for processing agricultural, forestry and fishery products in the province until 2020, with a vision to 2030.

According to the adjusted and supplemented planning, by 2020 the whole province will have a total tea area of ​​10,000 hectares (old planning 12,000 hectares), fresh bud output of about 120,000 tons; concentrated in Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Ky Son, Quy Hop, Tuong Duong and Tan Ky districts.

Regarding the adjustment of tea processing planning, the province will focus on reviewing and rearranging 74 small-scale tea processing facilities in Thanh Chuong, Anh Son, and Con Cuong by investing in 3 black tea production lines with a total capacity of 46 tons of fresh buds/day, 10 green tea production lines with a total capacity of 150 tons of fresh tea buds/day...

To achieve the results of the planning, the province requires localities to balance land funds and arrange land areas that are eligible to be included in the industrial tea development planning. Review previous crop planning to avoid duplication when arranging land funds for tea development. Use high-yield, good-quality tea varieties that can adapt to the climate and soil conditions of each region for new planting investment. Innovate tea processing equipment and technology towards using high technology.

Regarding the planning of processing agricultural and forestry products mainly in Nghe An province until 2020, with a vision to 2030, the goal is to improve product quality and competitiveness, ensure food safety and environmental protection; contribute to rapidly increasing the added value of products.

The target is to bring the production value of the agricultural and forestry processing industry to 16,313 billion VND by 2020; the average growth rate in the period 2015 - 2020 to reach 12.2 - 12.7%/year; the vision to 2030 to reach 25,454 billion VND. The export turnover value to 2020 to reach 327.25 million USD, an average growth of more than 17%; the vision to 2030 to reach 489.50 million USD.

Through synthesizing the opinions of the delegates, comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to receive comments from departments and branches to complete the report on tea development planning as well as the planning for processing agricultural and forestry products mainly in the province.

Particularly for the planning of industrial tea development, it is necessary to emphasize the role of enterprises in infrastructure investment and raw material purchasing mechanisms for people; focus on strengthening links with Japanese enterprises to improve technical innovation and processing, contributing to increasing the value of tea trees in the province.
