Nghe An issues telegram directing response to storm No. 8
Before the developments of storm TORAJI entering the eastern sea of the North East Sea, becoming storm number 8 in 2024, Nghe An issued a telegram directing response measures.
Telegram No. 11/CD-BCH clearly states:
According to the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, on the evening of November 11, storm TORAJI entered the eastern sea of the North East Sea, becoming the 8th storm in 2024; At 4:00 a.m. on November 12, the center of the storm was at about 18.5 degrees North latitude; 118.9 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 10, gusting to level 12, the storm moved northwest at a speed of about 10-15 km/h.

Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 8491 dated November 12, 2024 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on responding to storm No. 8, to proactively respond to the developments of the storm, the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense requests the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue of coastal districts and towns and relevant agencies and units to:
Closely monitor the storm's developments; strictly manage means of transport going out to sea; organize counting, notify owners of means of transport, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas or return to safe shelters. Dangerous areas in the next 24 hours: From latitude 15.5-21.5 degrees North latitude, east of longitude 114 degrees East longitude (dangerous areas are adjusted in forecast bulletins).
At the same time, prepare forces and means for rescue when required.
Agencies: Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and mass media agencies strengthen measures to inform about the storm's developments to authorities at all levels, owners of means of transport operating at sea and people to proactively prevent and respond promptly and effectively.
Departments and branches, according to their functions, state management tasks and assigned tasks, proactively direct and are ready to respond to storm developments.
Organize on-duty seriously, regularly report to the Provincial Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention - Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
