The Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense has just issued Official Dispatch No. 02 dated May 31 on proactively responding to tropical depression.

According to the Forecast Bulletin of the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, on the afternoon of May 31, 2024, the tropical depression in the northern area of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago strengthened into storm No. 1, with the international name MALIKSI. At 1:00 p.m., the center of the storm was at about 20.7 degrees North latitude; 111.8 degrees East longitude with wind force of level 8, gusting to level 10. In the next 12 hours, the storm is forecast to move in the North Northeast direction at a speed of about 10km/h, intensity of level 8, gusting to level 10.

To proactively respond to the storm's developments, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention of Nghe An province has issued a telegram requesting the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of districts, cities and towns; Departments, branches and relevant agencies and units to implement the following contents:

Closely monitor the storm's developments, manage vessels at sea; organize counting, notify owners of vessels, captains of ships and boats operating at sea of ​​the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas; beware of local thunderstorms (Dangerous areas in the next 12 hours: North of latitude 18, from longitude 110.5-114.5 and adjusted in forecast bulletins).
