(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of December 16th, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, Nguyen Duc Trung, signed dispatch No. 45/CĐ-UBND regarding the urgent response to the super typhoon approaching the East Sea.
The official dispatch stated: This afternoon (December 16, 2021), the super typhoon, internationally named RAI, directly affected the eastern coast of the Philippines; the strongest winds near the center of the typhoon reached level 16, with gusts exceeding level 17.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the evening of December 17, 2021, the storm will enter the East Sea with maximum wind speeds near the center reaching levels 13-14, gusting to level 17, causing waves 6-8 meters high in the northern, central, and southern East Sea areas; on December 19 and 20, the sea area off the coast of the central provinces may experience strong winds of levels 11-12, gusting to levels 14-15; directly threatening the safety of ships and activities at sea and along the coast.

To proactively respond to the developing storm,ensuring safetyFor the safety of ships and maritime activities, and the lives of the people, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT - TKCN), requests the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, provincial departments, agencies, and organizations, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Police, irrigation and hydropower companies in the province, localities, and relevant units to closely monitor the developments of the storm, and decisively direct and promptly implement storm response measures according to their assigned functions and tasks.

a) Coordinate with border guards and relevant agencies to direct the immediate review and identification of all vessels and boats still operating at sea (including fishing vessels, transport vessels, and other vessels) and their activities at sea; organizeclosely monitorMonitor the storm's progress, direct information dissemination, guide vessels and boats to move to safe shelters, resolutely preventing vessels and vehicles from operating in areas at risk of being affected by the storm; implement measures to ensure safety for activities at sea, the safety of lives, and prevent the spread of Covid-19 among people at anchorage and shelter areas.

3.Department of Natural Resources and EnvironmentIn coordination with the North Central Region Meteorological and Hydrological Station, direct and organize close monitoring, forecasting, and timely provision of information on the storm's developments so that the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, departments, agencies, localities, units, and people can proactively direct and implement appropriate response measures to the storm's developments.
