(Baonghean.vn) - Although the price of green vegetables has increased compared to the period before and after Tet, the price has only increased by 500-1,000 VND/kg. Because they still have to suffer losses, farmers only dare to produce sparingly.

Ms. Ho Thi Tuyet in Hamlet 3, Quynh Luong Commune (Quynh Luu), who grows more than 1 sao of tomatoes, said: Since Tet until now, the price of tomatoes has hit rock bottom. Previously, the highest price of tomatoes was 10,000 VND/kg, but now the price is only 2,500 - 3,000 VND/kg sold at the garden.

Mr. Ho Khanh Thi, residing in Hamlet 2, Quynh Luong Commune, produces green onions. His family has 4 sao of land and grows onions. Currently, onions are being sold for approximately 5,000 VND/kg, compared to a few days ago, the price of onions has increased by more than 1,000 VND/kg.

However, Mr. Thi said that the price of onions is currently fluctuating. It should be harvest time now, but if we harvest, the current labor cost is 180,000 VND/day, each day can harvest 150 kg of onions, if we sell at the current price, it is not enough to pay for labor, fertilizer, seeds, etc.

According to local people, vegetable prices have started to increase but not significantly, even fluctuating very erratically. Green onions cost from 2,300 - 2,500 VND/kg at the field; tomatoes sold in the field cost only 2,500 - 3,000 VND/kg, if brought to the wholesale market, they can be sold for 500 VND more than the price in the garden.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tue - Chairman of Quynh Luong Commune People's Committee said that the whole Quynh Luong commune has more than 1,000 households producing vegetables, with 210 hectares. Recentlyvegetable prices are very lowMany vegetable fields had to be uprooted because no one bought them.

Currently, the commune is also carrying out procedures to register trademarks for people to increase the value of vegetables, at the same time adjusting the crop structure, limiting surplus to avoid the current situation of having a good harvest but losing value.
