(Baonghean.vn) - This F1 case worked in the same room with 2 people who tested positive for nCoV, returned to their hometown for Tet a week ago and had contact with many people.

On the afternoon of February 15, Mr. Ho Sy Duong - Director of Hoang Mai Town Medical Center said that the authorities are thoroughly investigating the epidemic and tracing those who have come into contact with the F1 case returning from Hanoi. "Currently, this F1 has been taken to a centralized quarantine facility and samples have been taken for testing and sent to Nghe An CDC. For the identified F2 and F3 cases, we ask them to self-isolate at home," said Mr. Duong.

This F1 case is a female (31 years old), residing in Quang Trung block, Quynh Phuong ward. According to Mr. Duong, during her time working in Hanoi, she worked in the same room with two patients who were recently confirmed positive for nCoV. On February 7, this girlgo home for Tet. "Currently, we only know that the two people who tested positive and shared a room with this girl are both related to the Japanese man who died in the hotel," Mr. Duong added.

In a related development, the Hanoi Center for Disease Control this afternoon recorded two more positive cases. Both had been in the same room as the Japanese man who died in the hotel.

The first case is a 24-year-old woman residing in Dien Bien Ward, Ba Dinh District, working at Mitsui Vietnam Co., Ltd., 9th floor of Red Sun River Building, 23 Phan Chu Trinh, Hoan Kiem District. She was identified as having close contact with "patient 2229" - a Japanese man who died at a hotel in Hanoi.

After the Japanese man tested positive for nCoV, she was tested and taken to a centralized quarantine area at Tu Hiep Student Housing Area, Hoang Mai, on February 14. On the morning of February 15, she tested positive.

The second case is a 43-year-old Japanese man who is also an employee of Mitsui Vietnam Co., Ltd. He stayed at Room 1507 of Somerset West Point Hotel, Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District. He had close contact with "patient 2229" and the 24-year-old woman who tested positive this afternoon. All three were present at a meeting on February 2.
Both of these patients have not been announced by the Ministry of Health and are only considered suspected cases.
A 54-year-old Japanese man died suddenly at the Somerset Westpoint Hotel, No. 2 Tay Ho Street (Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District) on the evening of February 13. The next day, his test result was positive for nCoV. The Ministry of Health recorded him as "patient 2229", classifying him as a positive case after entering the country. The Hanoi Department of Health also issued information to find people who had been to a number of restaurants, hotels, clinics... where "patient 2229" had been, including the Red Sun River building.
