Nghe An draws experience from district-level defense area drills
On the afternoon of October 17, the Provincial Steering Committee held a conference to review experiences from defense area drills, flood and storm prevention and control drills, and district-level search and rescue drills in 2024.
Comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Exercise; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Exercise co-chaired the conference.

In 2024, Nghe An province directed the organizationdefense zone drills, flood and storm prevention and control, search and rescue drills for 7 localities, of which 6 districts and towns practiced defense zones including: Tan Ky, Quy Hop, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu and Hoang Mai town; Hung Nguyen district practiced flood and storm prevention and control, search and rescue.

After receiving the plan, localities have done well all preparations from drafting a system of documents and exercise plans; building exercise command posts; surveying and selecting locations for the field exercises; mobilizing forces and means; organizing serious and strict training; practicing mobilizing reserve soldiers; mobilizing human resources, ships and civilian vehicles according to Decrees 30 and 130 of the Government; A2 field exercises and martial law, curfew; fighting enemy infiltration into the coast; searching and rescuing on the river and overcoming consequences.
With the efforts of departments, branches, organizations, localities, armed forces and people, the preparation and practice of defense area drills, flood and storm prevention drills, search and rescue drills in localities organizing the drills took place according to plan, with quality and efficiency. The local training framework performed quite well in the roles, resolved situations promptly and flexibly, the forces had close coordination in handling situations that occurred, ensuring absolute safety for people, weapons, equipment and technical means.

The conference also discussed and pointed out limitations and shortcomings and proposed solutions so that by 2025, localities can practice to achieve better results.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 11 collectives and 20 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the defense zone drill, flood and storm prevention drill, and district-level search and rescue in 2024.
