In particular, Nghe An focuses on attracting investment in the fields of leather and footwear, seafood processing for export, tourism, electronic support technology, automobile industry, food and beverage processing.

The conference is also a forum for international organizations, investors, domestic and foreign enterprises to meet, exchange experiences, establish cooperative relationships, and link socio-economic development between Nghe An province and Ho Chi Minh City.

In recent times, the number of enterprises and investors from Ho Chi Minh City coming to learn, survey and invest in Nghe An province has been increasing; effective investment, production and business activities have contributed to the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.

Currently, in the province, there are 57 investment, production and business projects of enterprises and investors of Ho Chi Minh City with a total registered capital of nearly 35,000 billion VND.

Of which, 35 projects with a total investment of about 21,500 billion VND have been completed and put into operation. Some large and effectively operating projects include: Saigon - Song Lam Beer Factory, Vinamilk Milk Factory in Cua Lo Town, Golf Course - Resort Hotel Complex in Cua Lo, Sabeco Packaging Factory, Hoa Sen Steel Factory, Masan Food Processing...

11 projects with a total registered capital of 3,565 billion VND are under construction such as: Parking center in Vinh city; Commercial center, hotel, housing and luxury villas...

The conference will be held on the morning of September 20 in Ho Chi Minh City. This is also an activity to implement the Agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Nghe An province for the period 2019 - 2025 signed by Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong and Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Thai Thanh Quy on April 13, 2019 in Vinh City.

According to the agreement, Nghe An and Ho Chi Minh City will cooperate to develop comprehensively in socio-economic aspects, promote the advantages of the two localities, and meet the development and integration trends. The cooperation is based on the principles of equality, voluntary spirit, and proactiveness in accordance with the common direction of the two localities and specific plans.
